Boys & Girls Clubs of Brattleboro enjoy at Patriots Games
Because of the generosity of the New England Patriots and our friends from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Boston, on September 7th, 4 members from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Brattleboro were able to attend the New England Patriots home opener at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. It was a great game and everyone had a very good time, plus the Patriots won!

" If you were to ask me 4 years ago, “What are your plans for life? Are you going to college? What do you want to accomplish?” I would of simply answered, “I don’t know.” Now if you were to ask me the same thing I would be able to answer it very confidently. The Boys & Girls Club has helped me realize “my full potential as a young, caring, and responsible citizen”. My favorite part of the Boys & Girls Club is all the loving and caring staff role models. They are the ones who have supported me, cared for me and loved me. It is because of them I always come back. Thank you.

BGC SUMMER CAMP 2009

This summer we are going to repeat much of what we did last summer with a slight twist. Again we will have themes to our weeks of camp and plan many different, fun and exciting trips, but we will be mix the ages a little bit. We hope this will give more kids more choices and parents more options. we are also adding an extra week of camp this year, totaling 7 weeks during the summer of 2009.

At both our Bellows Falls and Westgate Units we again will

run programming that expanded on our normal school year programs and we have many special trips and activities planned, many are things you can only do in the summer.

At our Flat Street unit we will have “drop-in” hours from 12noon to 6pm daily, with teen nights on Friday night, but we will do more.

We will also continue to feed a lot of kids this summer at all three of our sites we will provide lunch and snacks to ever young person who needs it. Last summer we served almost 100 meals per day for most of the summer, we were able to provide these meals by working in collaboration with our friends at the Brattleboro summer lunch program, the Westgate Housing authority and many community volunteers and helpers.

The summer of 2009 we hope to continue to make history for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Brattleboro and the staff and our members are looking forward to next summer.
