WHAT IS THE GOING THE DISTANCE RIDE?
The Going the Distance Ride is one of our largest fundraisers of the year, enabling the Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro to offer expanded hours and an affordable camp program during the summer season. The Ride consists of three different but interconnected routes of 40, 60 or 100 miles that all start and finish at the Marlboro College Graduate Center in Brattleboro, VT. The 100 mile route goes from Brattleboro to the Northampton area and back. It’s a beautiful, scenic route along the Connecticut River, on quiet, well-paved roads. The shorter routes utilize some of the route and rest stops of the Century Ride. We’ll have cue sheets, maps and all routes will be well marked.
TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE BIKE ROUTES
This fully supported ride includes rest stops with great food and drink at approximately 20-mile intervals. Both of the longer routes have a catered lunch midway and a chance to swim. Sag vans will cover the route to support our riders. There’ll be an end-of-ride picnic with food and drink on the patio of the Marlboro College Graduate Center.
HOW DOES THE RIDE GENERATE FUNDS FOR THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB?
Riders are required to join our First Giving fundraising site and establish a personal fundraising goal of $350 or more. In lieu of a registration fee, we ask that you make an initial donation of $50-100 towards your goal. Teams are welcome, and each team member abides by the individual fundraising guidelines.
